About HOPE Community Services
In 1984, Mary Lou McNaney founded HOPE Community Services with a single mission: Help Our People Eat. That driving force was so strong, it became its name.
From those very first meals that were distributed at the New Rochelle Train Station to our Covid-19 response, HOPE's mission has always been to help the most vulnerable in our community, with dignity and respect.
With a small staff and over 600 volunteers, HOPE provides a full array of services and programs including:
- Community Kitchen
- Food Pantry
- Kosher Pantry
- Mobile Pantry and Deliveries to Seniors
- Food for Students During Summer and School Vacations
- Homework Help and After School Care
- Housing Programs
- Homeless Resource Center
- Community Outreach
- Immigrant & Advocacy Services
- Citizenship Classes
- Mobile Showers & Laundry Support
- Clothing Distribution
- Backpack & School Supplies Giveaway
- Holiday Toy Give Out
- Community/Holiday Celebrations
- Kids Summer Camp
- Summer STEAM Program
HOPE utilizes one of the largest volunteer operations, and almost all of our volunteers become regular members of our support team, and part of our extended family.
